Fall in North Idaho

The Beauty of a North Idaho Fall
One of my favorite things about fall here is simply being outside. The cooler temperatures make it perfect for exploring, hiking, taking scenic drives, or spending an afternoon at the lake without the heat of summer.

The forests around North Idaho transform into beautiful shades of gold, yellow, orange, and red. The mountains provide the perfect backdrop, and even an ordinary drive can turn into a scenic adventure.

Around the Sandpoint and Lake Pend Oreille area, fall is especially beautiful. The combination of mountains, forests, water, and colorful trees makes it hard not to stop and take a few pictures.

And then there are those cool North Idaho evenings. You can grab a warm drink, sit outside for a little while, and enjoy the peacefulness that comes with the changing season. It is the kind of weather that makes you want to put on a sweatshirt, light a candle, and get comfortable.

When Fall Turns Into Halloween

As soon as September arrives, I start thinking about Halloween.
There is just something about Halloween in a place surrounded by forests and mountains. The shorter days, chilly nights, colorful leaves, and dark skies create the perfect atmosphere.

This is also the time of year when our home starts getting a little spooky. Halloween decorations come out, pumpkins start appearing, and suddenly the house feels completely different.

Whether you go all-out with decorations or keep things simple with a few pumpkins and some spooky touches, decorating for Halloween is part of the fun.
